Top 3 Grow Lights from Amazon for under $100

Inexpensive, long lasting and they offer just enough for the stages of plants that we have in our little nursery.

No matter where you are or what you grow, odds are at some point you’re going to need additional lighting! I have burned through a ton of different lights for many different reasons and here are my top three favorites that I have stuck with over the years.

First up we have my personal favorite cheapy prop light. Helloify offers a great low cost plant Grow light bulb coming in at a mere 9 watts (equivalent of 100 watt traditional bulb).They come in a double pack of lights that fit right into most lighting fixtures. While they’re fantastic for propagating and/or seed starts, they don’t have enough oomph for bigger plants. They’re low wattage so you can run them 24/7 if you choose, and they can be right on top of the props without the risk of burning them.

Next up coming in at a freaking awesome price and one hell of a light for most hobby growers is The Grow Light by Briightnite is absolutely stunning in all it’s glory! This is by far the most used light we have installed at this time. I buy them in packs of 4, they’re that good. This 35watt (400watt equivalent) offers a 1000 lumens in full spectrum light for established plants.

Philodendron Pink Princess Phone Grip

Great thing I like about this light is you can set plants in the lights path from bright direct to soft indirect. The greatest part about it though, is it appears as white light to the eyes instead of the harsh pink most grow lights have.

It fits in most traditional lighting fixtures and has a built in fan to prevent overheating, although we run ours for 16hrs a day, I’ve never felt it hot, not even warm to the touch. While they don’t necessarily heat up to a point it could melt plastic, I would reco a metal housing for this bulb to be on the safe side.

Last but not least the heavy duty of my trio, the 1200W LED Grow Light, by Wakyme It’s a great light and offers a fully adjustable, full spectrum pulling double duty. It has two fans for temperature regulation as well as an option for Veg and Bloom, ,which is convenient.

It does need to be mounted overhead and it offers a 16 sqft coverage area that you can position your plants from bright light to low light on a vertical.
