Facebook AI Wrongfully Banning Businesses & Groups – Unchecked Algorithm Destroys Livelihoods

Facebook’s AI is Out of Control

We’re going to Court.

We got zukked: Over-Censorship by Facebook Bots

For over three years, our thriving Facebook community of 83,000 members has been a place for open conversation and support. Over the years the mandatory restrictions on every thing has gotten more of a challenge to deal with.

Facebook’s AI moderation system has become a nightmare for small business owners, community leaders, and content creators. The system, supposedly designed to uphold Facebook’s Community Standards, is causing mass account suspensions, group deletions, and profile restrictions without human oversight.

One of the most ridiculous examples of this failure is the repeated take-downs of Trade Thursdays in houseplant groups, where users trade cuttings, nutrients, and plant care supplies. Facebook’s AI mislabels these discussions as “illegal distribution of controlled substances,” despite the fact that houseplants are legal to own, sell, and trade.

Facebook’s AI Is Not Human-Verified, Despite Their Claims

Facebook claims that human reviewers oversee the AI moderation process, but the reality is far different. Many users who appeal unfair flags receive automated responses, with no actual person reviewing the flagged content. Even when users escalate their case to Meta’s Verified Help Support, they are met with contradictions.

The Only Way to Get a Human Review? A Court Summons

At this point, the only way to get a real human to review a case is through legal action. Many users have reported that filing a court summons forces Facebook to respond with actual human oversight.

Facebook’s refusal to acknowledge logical deductions—such as the fact that houseplants are not drugs—highlights the major failings of AI moderation. The company continues to enforce arbitrary bans and restrictions that are devastating small businesses, cutting off their access to their Facebook groups, Facebook pages, and personal profiles.

Why This Matters

  • Facebook’s AI algorithm is flawed and lacks human verification

  • Small business owners and Facebook group admins are losing revenue

  • Trade Thursday bans in plant communities show the AI’s inability to understand context

  • Meta Pro Support provides no real solutions, leaving users without recourse

What Needs to Change?

✅ Implement human review for flagged content before enforcing bans
✅ Provide actual customer support for small business owners
✅ Stop using AI as a standalone authority for moderation
✅ Ensure wrongful flags are reversed swiftly

Until then, Facebook will continue to suspend accounts, delete groups, and destroy businesses—without justification.
